Ecclesiastical Buildings Maintenance and Repair

Vertex Heritage are dedicated to supporting the owners or managers of places of worship for both day to day maintenance of their buildings and for large scale conservation projects.

Our work is underpinned by our:

  • Rope access craftspeople, qualified and passionate about historic building conservation

  • Experience in providing conservation solutions using industrial rope access techniques successfully over hundreds of projects

  • By combining our tried and tested traditional repair methods with modern and innovative conservation techniques, and applying these processes to protect the historic fabric of places of worship

  • Sister company, Vertex Air, providing high definition drone based photographic surveys and in depth condition report by heritage qualified surveyor

Church Roof Repair

With deep ties in the ecclesiastical community, Vertex Heritage understand that with falling congressional numbers, rising maintenance costs and an ageing and decaying historic building stock, every penny counts to keeping these building safe, watertight and maintaining their historic and architectural significance.

With only a tenth of Heritage Lottery funding grant applications being successful, major pressure is being put upon the sustained upkeep of these buildings.

Because of this Vertex Heritage have developed the arc system (access & roof conservation) to offer a cost effective solution to maximise the life expectancy of a traditional slate roof whilst retaining the most amount of significant building fabric. The arc system is a viable conservation alternative to a full slate roof replacement.

We consider the arc system as the only method of conserving an existing roof as opposed to the traditional roof restoration which involves the full removal and replacement of the historic fabric with new.
