High Level Glazing & Glass Replacement

Regardless of height, restricted access or oversized glazing units that require replacing, Vertex Facades have effectively completed a variety of commercial and high level residential glass replacements, as such, Vertex Facades draw on our wealth of experience and NVQ qualified Fenestrators to solve even the most technical of glazing replacement problems.

Vertex Facades have been completing high rise glass replacements and providing structural glass solutions for many years. We can replace curtain walling or unitised facades of any building. The glass is custom manufactured to suit the sizing, shape, colour, specification and requirements of any type of façade within the UK or Europe. Further to this, and we ensure the safe removal and disposal of the glazing removed from existing from site.

We provide risk assessed and reasonably practicable access solutions for such replacements, ranging from qualified Rope Access Technicians to crane lifting operations and bespoke cradle installations. Vertex are able to utilise existing, in-situ building maintenance cradles or establish our own safe system of work if there is none in existence at the site to undertake and safely complete the works.

In the event of a failure of a glazing unit, Vertex Facades undertake emergency repair and make safe works to reduce the risk of falling glass or harm to the building occupants or the public. Following emergency glazing repairs, Vertex provide a comprehensive remediation plan to bring the glazing system / building back into service.

Atrium glass roofs require tailored maintenance programmes, repair and replacement procedures from experienced teams who are confident working with difficult materials in often hard to access areas. Vertex Facades, hold a huge amount of experience in working at height, using cradles, monorail systems, gantries, IRATA rope access and MEWP’s where appropriate.  

Patent glazing can offer a more economical alternative to four-edge support curtain walling, particularly in situations where glazing needs to be installed at an angle, such as in a glass roof. Patent glazing is an effective, practical and affordable roofing solution for use in shopping centres, atrium conservatories, canopies, schools and a variety of public and private sector buildings.

In addition to installation and replacement works, Vertex Facades offer a range of inspection and reactive / preventative planned building maintenance (PPM) to glazing systems. With correct maintenance and servicing, lifespan of typical commercial glazing and window system can be massively extended.

Maintenance programmes include the clearance to drainage channels, both internal and external gasket inspection and replacement to transom and mullions. Ensuring that mastic sealants are within their serviceable lifespan and remediating / replacing the mastic seals is also integral to the maintenance regime to ensure the building internals remain water tight.

Our glazing servicing works incorporate health and safety inspections, cleaning of the glass and glazing system components, fixing torque testing, pressure plate and toggle systems, weather gasket and sealant adjustment and replacement where required, replacement of missing or defective components noted during the service, window hardware adjustment, lubrication servicing and replacement of defective components.
