Rope Access CWCT Water Tightness Testing

Vertex’s specialist water testing department undertake in house calibrated hose and spray bar testing in accordance with CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology) standards including TN41 and BS EN 13051.

Our extensive experience using industrial abseiling techniques to access building envelopes allows us to quickly, efficiently and safely undertake curtain wall and cladding water tests without the need for scaffolding or cradles.

Unitised system hose testing - 5% of joint tests

We have developed a bespoke, versatile and robust testing rig for use via industrial rope access techniques which allows for rapid deployment for the complex access arrangements, and the most accurate water tightness testing procedures for closed and open joint systems.

Closed joints are tested via handheld Hose testing rigs, with the water nozzle kept perpendicular to the joint at a 300mm distance and passed over a 1.5 metre section in 10 cycles.

Open joint systems are tested via our calibrated Spray bar rig, measuring between 2.5m and 5m in width, depending on test requirements. This process simulates an accelerated rainfall exposure to reveal installation and weather tightness defects.
