Lighting mast are frequently used to light expansive areas. Their height and luminous power make them ideal for use in and around quarries, stadiums, ports, industrial plants and airports. Of crucial need, keeping these lighting towers in good working order is critical to our client’s business operations. To maintain reliable illumination and uphold health and safety requirements to any surrounding property or persons, it is imperative that regular inspections and maintenance take place.

The height and construction of lighting towers make them highly problematic to access. Using refined industrial abseiling techniques, our trained IRATA teams at Vertex Rope Access have the experience and skills needed to quickly, safely and cost effectively access these towers and masts. After initial access is gained we can also install and certify bespoke permanent access systems if required, that allow for rapid periodic future access, yielding significant cost and time for our clients.

Vertex Rope Access’ highly skilled technicians can carry out a variety of works, starting with an initial condition inspection that highlights any defects of the structure and connected attachments. Common issues include broken bulbs, defective electrical cables and steel corrosion. With our team having a variety of in-depth skills and qualifications we can undertake significant works such as NDT testing, structural repairs, electrical testing and repairs, cable and flex replacement and full lighting unit replacement.

Upon completion of inspection we can provide a fully detailed report identifying any defects, or immediately commence with remedial works.

Complementing our rope access lighting tower maintenance services is our Vertex Air division, which utilises UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) technology to undertake high definition imagery which can capture the smallest details, providing a permanent visual record rapidly and cost effectively.

Drone mounted thermal imaging cameras can be used to pinpoint certain electrical faults.
