Domestic Property Roof Surveys

At Vertex Air, our building and roof inspections are delivered using our state-of-the art UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – otherwise known as drones), which offer our customers a cost-effective, high-quality solution that eliminates the risk of working at height associated with traditional means of survey access.

Previously inaccessible areas

Vertex Air’s drone surveys offer significant cost savings when compared with traditional methods of access when undertaking condition surveys on all types of commercial, industrial, residential and historic buildings.

Having an accurate condition survey of your roof is an integral part of planning for any preventative maintenance in advance, ensuring the longevity of the roof, but also any reactive maintenance from events such as:

  • storm damage

  • degradation of materials

  • poor installation or workmanship

If not remediated quickly, such defects could lead to much more costly damage to the roof further down the line. A drone survey is fast, safe and cost effective method of determining the condition of any roof.

Vertex operate the most sophisticated market-leading UAVs, offering unprecedented safety and fail-safe systems and flight stabilisation technology. Vertex are a CAA-approved company, with special permission to fly at night and within built-up areas. Our pilots are all friendly, fully qualified (subject to yearly assessment), and collectively hold thousands of hours of flight experience surveying hundreds of buildings and structures throughout the UK.

Set up on site is simple, often needing only our 1-man team and our UAV, and completely eliminating the costs associated with alternative access. UAVs dramatically reduce the time required to complete the survey – an experienced, qualified pilot can capture thousands of images in just a few hours. This not only allows for sites to remain open with minimal disturbance to working operations or public use, it significantly reduces the costs of performing the survey.

For residential properties, a garden or driveway is usually sufficient space to use as a take-off and landing area, however all projects are individually assessed for their feasibility as part of the rigorous risk assessment process.

Unlike the vast majority of other UAV operators, Vertex’s inspections and surveys are undertaken by qualified Building Surveyors, who specialises in the assessment and remediation of defective building envelopes, historic buildings, industrial structures and infrastructure, such as bridges and viaducts. This ensures Vertex Air’s building and roof inspections deliver the highest quality results, safely and cost-effectively, that can be relied on to inform our customer’s decision making.

By combining the cutting edge technology that Vertex Air possess with the vast experience and knowledge of Vertex Heritage and Specialist Roofing, a comprehensive proposal can be put together for making the roof safe and sound (and when roof access seems difficult, rope access techniques can be used to maintain a safe working position).

A drone survey from Vertex Air is one of the best first steps you can take if you think that you may have hidden issues with your roof, or you would like to see if there are any preventative works that can be undertaken to save you money in the long run.
